Biography

József Kiss was an athlete of the MTK from 1934 to 1941, the UTE from 1942 to 1949, and Bp. Dózsa from 1950 to 1954, where he achieved his best results in marathon running. From 1939 to 1954 Kiss won the Hungarian marathon championship six times. In 1940 he set a national record of 2 hours 36 minutes 10.6 seconds.

From 1947 to 1954 he was selected for the Hungarian national team seven times. In 1948 Kiss participated in the London Olympics where he finished 19th.

Personal Best: Mar – 2-23:55 (1961).
