Biography

Tima Ferenc started competing in sports as a sprinter in 1934. Before the outbreak of World War II he was mentioned among the fastest Hungarian runners. In 1942 Tima won the national championship title in the 100 metres for KEAC. After the war, in the colors of SZEAC, he won the championship title in both 100 and 200 metres in 1946. In September 1947 he moved to Vasas, where he won three more titles with the relay team.

In 1947-48 he appeared in the Hungarian national team four times and finished fourth with the Hungarian 4 x 100 metres relay team at the 1948 London Olympics. Tima, who by then already had a law university degree, retired from racing in 1952 and worked as an official at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food until his death.
