Biography

Antonella Luigina Bizioli was an Italian marathon runner who worked as a primary school teacher. Coached by Claudio Valisa, she competed at the 1987 World Championships in Roma, finishing 12th in the marathon in 2-38:52 and the following year, at the age of 31, she participated in the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games in the marathon, finishing 23rd.

In 1991, Bizioli won her biggest title, taking the Venezia marathon in 2-36:56. In the same year she finished 12th in the World Cup in London, helping Italy to the team silver medal, while in 1995 she helped Italy win a World Cup bronze medal. She competed twice at the New York marathon, in 1996 and 1998. Internationally, Bizioli won 9 caps between 1985 and 1995.

Personal Best: 3,000 – 9:44.8 (1987); 10,000 – 33:57.7 (1988); Mar – 2-31:21 (1988).
