A sprinter, Vittoria Cesarini was one of the fastest Italian athletes at just 20-years-old. Her golden year was 1951, where, in Lucca, she became Italian champion in the 100m (12.2), 200m (25.5), and in the 4x100 relay with the Bologna Cestistica team, with whom she had already won relay titles from 1948-50 and would repeat in 1952. Cesarini’s major tournaments were the 1950 European Championships and the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, where she was eliminated in round one of the 100 metres and failed to reach the final of the 4x100 relay.
