Biography

Rodolfo Bergamo was sixth at the Montréal Games in high jump, equaling the best result in the event by an Italian athlete at the Olympics (Giacomo Crosa in Mexico City). Bergamo was twice Italian champion, in 1977 and 1978, and also set two Italian records, with 2.22 in Milano on 8 June 1976 and 2.24 in Roma on 25 July 1978. At the 1974 European Championships in Roma he was seventh with 2.16 while four years later in Praha he was eliminated in the qualification.

Personal Best: HJ – 2.24 (1978).
