Italian 400 m specialist Mario Fraschini won five national titles (1958, 1960-63) never breaking 47.0 seconds, and one 800 m title winning the double in 1960. He was a member of the 4x400 m Italian relay team at the 1960 Olympic Games in Roma alongside Renato Panciera, Giuseppe Bommarito, and Nerio Fossati and missed making the final by 0.17 seconds.
A two-time European Championships team member, in 1958 Fraschini did not advance out of the 400 m heats and was fourth in the 4x400 m relay; and in 1962, he reached the 400 m semi-final and finished fifth with the 4x400 m relay team. Fraschini’s career spanned from 1958-63 representing Italy 19 times internationally.
