Andrea Pegoraro was an Italian pole vaulter. Born in Northern Italy in the Veneto Region, after starting in a small club, he moved to the Carabinieri Military Corps in Bologna with coach Renzo Avogaro.
In 1985 at the age of 19 Pegoraro reached 5 metres for the first time, then moved on to 5.20 the following year and 5.50 m in 1989. He won the Italian indoor title in 1990 again with 5.50 and placed 10th at the Indoor European Championships. In 1992, after a 15th place at the European Indoors, he was selected for the Barcelona Olympics where, with 5.40 in the qualifying round, he did not make the final. The following year he achieved a creditable seventh place at the World indoor Championships.
Pegoraro achieved his personal best of 5.65 three times, twice outdoors (in Foggia and in the qualification of the 1993 Stuttgart Worlds Champs) and once indoors (in Toronto). He won 22 international caps from 1987-1995. Domestically he won two Italian outdoor titles in 1994 and 1995, clearing 5.50 in both events.
