Biography

Edoardo Podberschek was an Italian weight thrower who started with the shot and discus as a youth but turned to the hammer throw in 1967. He competed at the 1976 Montréal Olympics but failed to get out of qualifying. He was seventh at the 1978 European Championships in Praha, and finished second at the 1979 Mediterranean Games, behind countryman Gian Paolo Urlando. Podberschek was a soldier and could not compete at the 1980 Moskva Olympics, as the Italian government forbade soldiers from competing there. In all, he earned 11 international caps from 1973-80.

Personal Best: HT – 74.60 (1979).
