Biography

Angiolo Profeti competed in the shot put at the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki where he finished 12th in the final with a mark of 14.74 m. At the European Championships, he was 7th in his début in 1938 and won the shot put silver medal in 1950 in Bruxelles (15.16 m). A 15-time national shot put champion (1938-1942, 1945-54), Profeti finished second behind Greek shot putter Konstantinos Giataganas at the 1951 Mediterranean Games. Between 1937-54, he represented Italy internationally 26 times.
