Tadashi Murakami won four titles in the 110 m hurdles at the Japan Athletics Championships in 1934-35 and 1937-38. In 1934 he also won the high hurdles at the Far Eastern Games. In the same year he improved the national record several times, eventually taking it to 14.6.
