Motsapi Moorosi was the first Olympic athlete from Lesotho, competing at the 1972 Olympics. A top African sprinter for the era, he qualified for the quarter-finals in the 200 metres. Moorosi later became an athletics coach, coaching the Lesotho team at the Commonwealth Games and the All-African Games. He also worked at President Brand Gold Mine as a sports trainer in the recreation office. Moorosi later served the Ministry of Education under the Lesotho Sports Council helping with the development of athletes. He also conducted workshops and coaching clinics. Moorosi eventually went into the business world, founding Pro Shop Sports, and was a founder of the Coca-Cola primary football under-12 boys tournament.
