Biography

Dutch track and field athlete Jo Mallon specialised in the 800 metres and won three consecutive national titles from 1928 to 1930. Mallon also held the Dutch record in the event from 1928 until 1933. She was selected to run in her favoured event at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, finishing fourth in her heat with only the top three athletes progressing to the final. Mallon was 64-years-old when she died in a car accident in Schiedam in May 1970.
