Biography

Herman Timme was a Dutch decathlete. Timme originally started out as a boxer, but switched to athletics and focused on the decathlon. From 1957 to 1967 he won more than 20 medals in national competitions. Timme competed at the 1960 Roma Olympics where he finished in 15th place. After the Olympics Timme began to focus on individual elements of the decathlon, especially the discus throw and shot put, before he retired in 1970.
