Benedict Majekodunmi was a Nigerian sprinter who ran in the 100 metres, 200 metres, and the 4 × 100 metres relay. Majekodunmi’s competed in the relay at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics where the Nigerian team reached the semi-finals. At the 1972 München Olympics he was again part of the relay team that reached the semi-finals. Majekodunmi raced in the 100 metres where he finished fourth in his heat, just missing out on qualification for the quarter-finals. He was also scheduled to compete in the 200 metres but he did not start the event. At the München Games Majekodunmi was Nigeria’s flagbearer at the Opening Ceremony.
At the 1970 British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh Majekodunmi reached the semi-finals in the 100 metres and finished in seventh place with the relay team in the 4 × 100 metres. At the 1974 British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch he won bronze in the relay along with Timon Oyebami, Kola Abdulai, and James Olakunle. Majekodunmi was one of the first head athletics coaches from Ogun State where he worked with many athletes including Olympian Samson Oyeledun.
