Birger Haug was a Norwegian track and field athlete who represented Verdal Idrettslag in the 1930s. Haug specialised in the high jump, winning three silver medals at the national championships (1930, 1931, 1933). He was selected to compete at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics where he tied for ninth with four other athletes who all cleared 1.85 metres. After his sporting career Haug worked as a physical education teacher.
