Biography

Willy Rasmussen was a javelin thrower who finished fifth at the 1960 Roma Olympics. He also competed in 1964 at Tokyo but did not make the final. Rasmussen was 12th in 1958 9th in 1962 and did not qualify in 1966 at the European Championships. He was Norwegian champion in 1958-9, 1961 and 1965, and competed in 45 international matches between 1957-69. His personal best of 84.18, set in 1961, ranked him #8 on the all-time world list at that time.
