Biography

Away from his day job as a farmer Johan Trandem competed in track and field athletics and specialised in weight throwing events. Trandem won four national titles during his career, with three in the discus throw (1922–24) and one in the shot put (1925). He competed in both events at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, finishing eighth in the discus. Just prior to his death in late 1996 he was one of the guests of honour at the 100th anniversary celebration of the Norwegian Athletics Federation.

Personal Bests: SP – 13.81 (1925); DT – 44.60 (1928).
