Felicja Schabińska

Felicja Schabińska was a Polish athlete who represented Legia Warszawa. After leaving boarding school Schabińska worked as a telephone operator. In 1925 Schabińska joined Sokół Grażyna Warszawa where she trained as a gymnast and took up athletic classes. Between 1927 and 1932 Schabińska represented Poland eight times in international competitions. At the 1930 Women’s World Games in Praha Schabińska won the bronze medal in the 4×100 metres relay.

Schabińska competed in the 80 metres hurdles at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. She finished in last place in her heat and did not advance to the final. During her career Schabińska set nine national records in the hurdles and relays. Schabińska was also a six-time national champion, five times in the 80 metres hurdles (1927, 1930–33) and once in the 100 metres (1930). In 1936 she married Tadeusz Friedrich, who fenced for Poland at the Olympics.
