Boxer Franz Frauenlob was Austrian middleweight champion (1961 and 1963). He was then selected for the 1964 Tokyo Games, where he lost his first-round bout to Egyptian Ahmed Mahir by decision.
In 1961, Frauenlob won the bronze medal at the European Championships, but four years later lost his first-round bout. His son Franz Frauenlob, Jr., trained in locksmith and blacksmith crafts and became a well-known artist in Austria.
