Boxer Paul Schweifer took part in the light-heavyweight division at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. However, he lost his first-round bout to Danish boxer Børge Holm on a decision. Domestically, Schweifer boxed with BC Wieden Wien (Vienna). During World War II, he was killed in action in 1941 near Kursk at the Eastern Front.
