Alexandra Sicoe was one of the best track sprinters in post-war Romania, winning 27 national titles and setting 26 national records. Sicoe spent her entire career at the Cluj University Sports Club, where she dominated in the 100, 200, and 400 metres. From 1947 to 1949 she competed in the Worker Youth Cup before moving up to the senior team in 1950. In 1952 Sicoe was selected to run in both the 100 and 200 metres at the Helsinki Olympics; however, she failed to advance beyond the heats in either. Despite an early exit at the Olympics she did enjoy some international success, including bronze in the 400 metres at the 1955 World Festival of Youth and Students, along with gold in the 4 x 100 metres relay at the 1957 Balkan Games.
Personal Bests: 100 – 12.1 (1955); 200 – 24.9 (1955).
