Romanian track and field athlete Petre Havaleț dominated in the discus throw for more than a decade, winning multiple national titles. From 1929 to 1942 Havaleț won 13 titles at the Romanian Championships, only missing out in 1941. At the Balkan Games he won gold in the discus in 1931, along with three silver medals (1934, 1936, 1937) and two bronze (1930, 1939). Havaleț competed at the 1936 Berlin Olympics but did not advance from the qualifying round.
