Iosif Nagy was a discus thrower who twice competed at the Olympic Games. He was Romanian Champion 14-times in the discus between 1965-82 and set 21 Romanian national records. Nagy won the Balkan Championship in 1967-69, 1975-76, and 1983. His best mark of 68.12, set in 1983, remained the Romanian national record through the 2010s. He studied at the Pedagogical College in Târgu Mureş and then became a coach.
