Serbia’s Dušan Milošević was a track and field athlete, swimmer, and footballer, and was one of the founders of the Beogradski Sport Klub (BSK). In May 1912 Milošević won a 100 metres qualification race in Košutnjak, Beograd, which earned him a place in the same event at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. At the Games he finished in third place in his heat where he then collapsed at the finish line after suffering with stomach pains. Milošević was taken to the hospital in Stockholm where he was diagnosed with arsenic poisoning. During his time in hospital he was visited by Pierre de Coubertin and his daughter. Milošević’s poisoning was investigated by the police but nothing was uncovered.
After the Olympics Milošević returned to Serbia where he played football for BSK as a defender. During World War I he spent time in a prisoner of war camp in Hungary. After the war he spent most of his life working in an asbestos mine in the north-west of the country.
