Biography

In the early 1920s Otto Garnus set five Swiss records in athletics with three in the shot put and two in the javelin throw. At the 1924 Paris Olympics Garnus competed in the shot put and discus throw, finishing 23rd and 26th, respectively. He returned to the Olympics four years later at the Amsterdam Games as a weightlifter where he finished in 10th place in the light-heavyweight category.
