Hansruedi Kunz was a Swiss decathlete who competed at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics although he failed to finish the event. He was far better known as a coach, leading the Swiss multi-eventers for 41 years from shortly after the 1968 Olympics, retiring as national coach only in 2020. He led the Swiss athletics team at the Olympics from 1980-96.
Kunz studied biomechanics and worked at the ETH (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule) Zürich. In 2022 he was given a Lifetime Award by the Swiss Olympic Coach Awards.
