Biography

Adolf Meier was a Swiss all-round track and field athlete who competed at two Olympic Games. Meier finished in 17th place in the long jump at the 1924 Paris Olympics with a best effort of 6.610 metres. He also competed in the decathlon but did not finish after failing to record a height in the high jump. Four years later Meier competed in the same two events at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics where he recorded similar results. He finished in 22nd place in the long jump and withdrew from the decathlon after completing seven of the ten disciplines. Meier died quite young in January 1949 at the age of 46.
