Max Wehrli was a Swiss multi-athlete who competed in the decathlon at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. As a junior he won three Swiss junior titles in the 110 m hurdles, shot put, and discus throw, but he was best known as a pole vaulter. His only senior podium finish was a bronze medal in the 1956 Swiss decathlon championship. Wehrli later became the Swiss national pole vault coach. In 1966 TV Olten, his club, and the Cantonal Athletics Association made him an honorary life member.
