Ragnar Ekberg

All-round track and field athlete Ragnar Ekberg was a six-time Swedish champion in a variety of disciplines. From 1908 to 1911 Ekberg was the national champion in the standing long jump. He was also the standing high jump champion in 1908 and part of the relay team that won the 4x100 metres title in 1913.

At the 1908 London Olympics Ekberg finished in fifth place in the standing long jump. His jump of 3.19 metres was only three centimetres short of the bronze medal distance and four centimetres short of silver. He competed in the same event at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics but could only manage to finish in 13th place. Ekberg ran in the 100 metres where he finished in third place in his heat but did not advance to the semi-finals. He was also scheduled to run in the 200 metres but he did not start the race.
