Biography

Deusdete Vasconcelos began boxing at a gym in São Paulo when he was 14-years-old and continued to box whilst working for Pirelli. In 1972 Vasconcelos was selected to compete in the bantamweight class at the München Olympics but lost in his opening bout to Kim Jong-Ik of North Korea. He made his professional début two years later, winning his first four fights, before losing his fifth latter the same year. Vasconcelos’s next bout ended in a no contest after both boxers sustained injuries due to a clash of heads. He then drew his next two contests before ending his short pro career in early 1975.
