Biography

Halil Zıraman threw the javelin at the 1948 and 1952 Olympic Games. He was an eight-time Turkish champion with the javelin, winning in 1948-52, 1954-55, and 1957, and setting five Turkish records in 1949-50. Zıraman won a silver medal in the javelin at the 1951 Mediterranean Games and placed third at the Balkan Games in 1953-55. He attended college in the United States at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and won the 1954 NAIA title in the javelin.
