Phoebe Blair-White was born Rosetta Phoebe Newell, and went by Phoebe, although her nickname was Binky. She married Arthur Blair-White, a top cricketer for Ireland, circa 1918 in Dublin. In addition to her Olympic appearance, Blair-White was the Irish singles champion in 1928 and 1931. She played Wimbledon in 1929, losing her first round match in singles, the only event she entered. Blair-White played for Ireland against a visiting Australian team in 1925, Australia winning 8-2. She won the County Dublin Championships in 1927 and 1931. In 1928 she won the Irish singles and doubles championship, and she won the singles again in 1931. Blair-White played out of the Carrickmines Croquet & Lawn Tennis Club. She lived to almost 97 years of age.
