Biography

Vilim Messner was a Croatian track and field athlete who represented Yugoslavia. Messner was a member of the HAŠK sports club in Zagreb where he specialised in the javelin throw. He competed in the discipline at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics and finished in 23rd place with a best throw of 53.70 metres. Messner was scheduled to compete at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics but he was forced to withdraw ahead of the Games due to an injury.
