Biography

Greek long-distance Dimitrios Christopoulos specialised in the marathon. Christopoulos finished in fourth place at the 1896 Panhellenic Games, held on 10 March, which served as one of the qualifying competitions for the Athína Olympics. At the Athína Games he was one of the 17 men who ran in the marathon but he did not finish the race. Christopoulos was also listed to swim in the 500 metres freestyle but did not start the event.
