Pál Vargha competed for BEAC and then later for MAC. Hurdles and long jump were his strongest disciplines, but he also competed in almost all of the athletics disciplines. He became Hungarian champion both in 1901 and 1904. In 1904 he also won in 120-yard hurdle as well as in long jump. After his sporting carrier, Vargha worked as a teacher. After his death, the Hungarian champion of the 110 m hurdles was awarded with the so-called “Pál Vargha Award”.
