Ferenc Holubán started his sporting carrier at the Athletic Club of the Arad Toldi as a wrestler and weightlifter, and later competed for KAOE. Between 1905 and 1906, he was a member of the Hungarian national team. He was one of the first known Hungarian professional wrestlers and achieved internationally significant results (until 1930).
As an amateour, his greatest achievment was at the 1906 Olympics, where he finished 3rd place in the lightweight (70 kg) category.
As a proffesional wrestler, his greatest match was against the reigning World Champion, Jim Londos in New York, Madison Square Garden in 1930. After his career, he lived in Budapest until his death in 1945.
