Gustaf Grönberger won a bronze medal in tug-of-war at the 1906 Athina Olympics. The Swedish team lost its opening match to the Greek team, but then defeated Austria for the bronze medal. Grönberger also competed in gymnastics. He became a surgeon and was head of the Swedish Red Cross ambulance corps in Serbia during the Balkan War of 1912. From 1928-48 he was head surgeon at the Samariten Children’s Hospital in Stockholm. Grönberger died in Stockholm at the age of 90 years old.
