Mikós Orosz was the Hungarian national lightweight wrestling champion in 1908. In the same year, he competed as a middleweight at the London Olympics, and was eliminated after his first match. Having competed for many years, he retired before the start of World War I due to heart disease. He moved to Merano, Italy to receive medical treatment. Returning to Hungary several times after that, Orosz established a trophy to encourage young wrestlers.
