Having skied from a young age, Josette Baisse won her only French national cross-country skiing title in 1951, when she topped the podium in the 10 kilometers. This, in addition to her success in several qualifying races, led to her selection to represent her country at the 1952 Oslo Games, where she placed 15th. By career she was a physiotherapist and, after her competitive days, she and her husband ran a cross-country skiing center near Chamonix. In addition to practicing physiotherapy, she continued to ski for many years and conduct skiing tours in the region.
