Michaela Endler was West German Champion over 5 km from 1969-76 and over 10 km from 1971-75. She attended three Olympic Winter Games (1968-76) placing fourth in the 3x5 km relay in 1972 as her best result. She was also a versatile track and field athlete and a whitewater canoeist. Educated as a hotel clerk, Endler later worked as a physiotherapist.
