Urška Hrovat of Slovenia made her Olympic début at the 1992 Olympic Winter Games in Albertville where she finished 10th in the slalom, but did not finish the super-G. Over the next two Olympic Winter Games, in 1994 and 1998, she had six races, with a best finish of eighth in the slalom at Lillehammer in 1994.
A two-time World Junior slalom champion (1991-92), Hrovat also twice reached the podium, winning silver in 1991 (combined) and bronze in 1993 (slalom). Her four appearances at the World Championships produced one bronze medal in 1996 (slalom) and two top-10 slalom finishes in 1999 (seventh) and 2001 (10th).
Hrovat attended Srednja Pedagoska Gimnazija in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She was introduced to the sport by her father Sasko, who put her on skis at the age of five and was her first coach before Marko Jujec took over coaching duties in 1993.
