Biography

Tyrolean-born cross country skier Margot Kober participated in the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. She competed in three events: over 5 km (36th), 10 km (34th), and 20 km (dnf). In 1985 and 1987, Kober appeared at the World Championships, also with little success. Domestically, she won the Austrian relay title in 1986-88 and individual titles at 20 km in 1983-85, 10 km in 1983 and 1985, and 5 km in 1983. Kober also enjoyed 11 more podium finishes.

Kober later married Hermann Fohringer and joined him in his transport and crane company. She participated in long distance running in her later years.
