The competitive skating career of Jill Hood-Linzee was a short one. Shortly after the end of World War II, she finished fourth in the 1945 British Amateur Ice Skating Championship. Two years later she placed third. Hood-Linzee appeared in the World Championships of 1947 and 1948, and the 1947 Europeans. She was indisposed for the 1948 Europeans, just before the Olympics, but did make it to St. Moritz, where she finished 19th. Her best finish internationally was 10th at the 1947 Europeans. She enjoyed socialising and could be regularly seen at the annual Henley Royal Regatta on the Thames.
