Florence Masnada competed at three Winter Olympic Games (1992, 1994, 1998), winning two bronze medals, in the 1992 combined and the 1998 downhill. At Vail, Colorado in 1991, she became the only French female skiier to win the World title in the combined (through 2013). On the World Cup circuit, she had eight podium finishes, and won one race, a super-G in 1995 at Garmisch, but she was consistent enough that in 1991 she was the World Cup champion in the combined. Masnada was a 14-time French champion. After her competitive career ended Masnada started a career in business and enterpreneurial activities, and later became a sports commentator on ski races, working since 2009 for Eurosport, RMC, and Europe 1 channels.
