Antje Misersky was married to Ian Harvey, an American biathlete and World Championships participant, after the Albertville Winter Olympics. She started her career as a cross-country skier in the former GDR, until 1985, when her father Henner (who was national head coach at that time) refused to let East German sports authorities administer performance-enhancing substances to his daughter. He was then summarily dismissed and Antje was banned from the East German national team.
After German reunification Misersky-Harvey started in biathlon for the combined Germany. In 1992 at Albertville she won two silver medals (7.5 km sprint and relay) and won gold in the 15 km. Two years later she added another silver in the relay at Lillehammer, finishing 26th over 7.5 km and ninth over 15 km. At the World Championships she managed one more gold in the 1995 relay and one bronze with the 1991 relay team. Nationally, she won German titles over 7.5 km in 1991 and over 15 km in 1992.
After the end of her career in 2000 Misersky-Harvey and her husband settled in the United States, where they run a sports shop, and she gained American citizenship. In 1995 she was awarded the Heidi Krieger Medal for recognized doping victims. In 2012, she was inducted, together with her father, into the Hall of Fame of German Sports.
