Biography
Gisela Otto placed 18th in the women’s singles at the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics due to a crash in one of her runs. She started luging at the age of 11 when her father Horst Otto built a luge run near Passau for his daughters Gisela and Ulrike. The luge run was situated at Hacklberg near Passau and had a length of only 800 metres.
