Biography

Skier Hadi Pfeifer finished fifth in the Alpine combination at the 1936 Garmisch Partenkirchen Winter Olympics. She was born in Austria and was the sister of Gustav, Otto, Gerhard and Ingrid Lantschner. Like her brother Gustav, she obtained German citizenship just six months before the start of the 1936 Games after getting married to a German sports teacher. She herself was a trained nurse.

At the 1932 World Championships, representing Austria, she won two bronze medals, in the downhill and combination, and was fourth in the slalom. In 1933 she was sixth in the downhill and two years later was the World Championship silver medalist in the downhill, now representing Germany. She retied after the 1936 Olympics.
