Biography

Czesława Stopka was a Polish cross-country skier who represented AZS Zakopane. Although Stopka never won gold at the Polish championships she did win 15 medals across four disciplines. In the 3 x 5 km relay she won five silver (1959–60, 1962, 1966, 1968) and six bronze medals (1957, 1963, 1965, 1969–71). Her other bronze medals came in the 5 kilometres (1964–65), and the 10 kilometres (1964, 1969). Stopka skied in the 5 and 10 kilometre events at the 1964 Innsbruck Olympics where she finished 24th and 23rd, respectively. She also finished in seventh place with the Polish team in the 3 × 5 kilometres relay.
