German badminton player Nicol Pitro started her sports career as a track & field athlete but turned to badminton at the age of ten. She participated twice in the mixed doubles at the Olympic Games, reaching the second round on both occasions. In 2000 she partnered Michael Keck, and at Athens in 2004 partnered Björn Siegemund.
Pitro won eight German national titles. After her active career, she became a coach in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, and later a full-time youth co-ordinator and trainer in the Hessian Badminton Association.
