Biography
Marianne, sister of Christa Zechmeister, was a West German alpine skier who participated in the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Games, where she finished ninth in the downhill race. At the Youth Europeans she won a bronze in 1975 and a silver medal in 1977 in the slalom events. Nevertheless, she failed to reach a podium in any World Cup race. She retired from competitive skiing in 1982.
